Saw him this afternoon his eyes were open and alert. I forgot to say he does have a urinary tract infection which he has antibiotics for. He also is off the feeding tube for now but I think they are weening him off the feeding directly to his stomach and slowly replace with the feeding tube through his nose. He was off the blood pressure medicine for now. I am hoping his body will slowly begin to control his blood pressure on its own and he will totally be off the pressers (doctor talk for his medicine for blood pressure which is Norepinephrine). I am learning a lot about the human body maybe not as much as my cousin Robert who is in medical school now but enough for my pea brain to be in awe of all of it.
I also wanted to make it clear because I know some people who have not seen my dad don't truly understand how critical he is. He is immobile because of all the fluid in his body and can only really move his head a little. He is so stiff and swollen it hurts him if a nurse even picks up his arm to change his dressings. He cannot talk at all because of the tracheostomy which causes you to lose your voice because it goes directly in your trachea. So he was badly injured and its a miracle that he is still here. He is fighting his way back to normalcy. It will take a long long long long long long long time before he gets there but if he keeps this up he will get there. Now on to more lighthearted fair, please enjoy this picture of my dad's favorite grandpuppy, the infamous Pollie Oprah Martello: ( I tell dad every day she misses him feeding her his dinner scraps)

"[Your husband] is very very very sick but getting better; you must have a lot of people praying for him"
"Why yes we do, a lot of people are praying for him."
This is a quote from Dr. McHappy (nickname) the new head trauma surgeon. For a Dr. to recognized PRAYER is involved, is awesome.
"The prayer of the righteous availeth much." Everybody keep praying and give GOD the glory. Shout!
Delena, this is wonderful news. It brings tears of joy that Mr.V is doing somewhat better. He will pull through..and prayers are still going and will NEVER stop. He would always tell me that he would always pray for me and i promis never to stop praying for him or for you and your mother. I know it is a long way to recovery..but he will pull through and i can't wait to go and see him..please again send him my love and prayers..thank you. Lisa De La Paz..
